UGA - Terry - Information Security Management: Past & Present 


The UGA - Terry - Information Security Management: Past & Present Program will not be running during Spring Break 2020.

Program Locations:

City of London (home base), with excursions to course relevant cultural and business sites.
Academic content is delivered in Athens through several pre-departure meetings (Jan/Feb), as well as in the experiential learning activities abroad (Mar).

Course credit:

INTB 5100 Special Topics in International Business (1 credit) 

Prerequisite: ONE of the following courses: MIST 5770, Information Security Management or MIST 5775, Cyberthreat Intelligence. These courses could be taken (IN-progress) during Fall 2019 or Spring 2020 or completed by Fall 2019.

This program satisfies UGA experiential learning requirement. For IB co-majors, it fulfills a major elective and international immersion requirement too.

Sat., March 7: AM/PM arrival in London, lodging, orientation & city tours, welcome meal
Sun., March 8: AM/PM city tours
Mon., March 9: AM/PM academic visits
Tue., March 10: AM/PM academic visits 
Wed., March 11: AM/PM academic visits
Thu., March 12: AM/PM academic visits, 
Fri., March 13: AM/PM academic visits, class meeting & debrief session, farewell meal
Sat., March 14: AM/PM Return to USA

Housing & Meals:

Double-occupancy, hotel accommodations. The program includes daily breakfast at the hotel and some additional group meals (per itinerary).

Eligibility & Admission Criteria:

  • Open to all business majors and intended business majors who have completed one year of college in residence (sophomore) at the time of application.
  • Satisfactory academic and disciplinary records
  • Strong references from faculty and/or employers.
  • Enrollment is limited (a minimum enrollment count must be met to confirm program).
  • Prerequisite coursework, if any, may be considered.
  • Preferred minimum GPA of 2.75.

See estimated Cost of Attendance link at the top of the brochure page.  Please note that the group will be traveling on a pre-arranged group flight.  Accepted/Committed program participants will be directed to purchase their flight by the program instructor. 

Scholarships & Financial Aid: Speak with a UGA Financial Aid Advisor about how to apply the HOPE scholarship and other financial aid to study abroad expenses. Additionally, explore travel scholarships maintained by the Terry College and the UGA Office of Global Engagement
 

Admission Process:

Admissions are rolling after the Sept. 17 decision date, and only applications marked "complete" by that time will receive a decision. Be sure to complete ALL pre-departure materials and include one faculty/employer reference letter. Admission decisions will be sent via the studyaway.uga.edu application portal only after the Sept. 17 decision date. Students will have a limited time to accept or decline an admission offer before the spot passes to another candidate. Students who accept the offer of admission must pay a non-refundable $200 deposit to confirm their place in the program and register for courses.
