SLU Malmo

UGA Exchange, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences

SLU is a young university with a long history. It was founded in 1977 out of the agricultural, forestry and veterinary university colleges, the Veterinary School at Skara and the Forestry School at Skinnskatteberg.  The Faculty of Natural Resources and Agricultural Sciences (NJ), conducts a wide range of research, teaching and environmental monitoring and assessment in the fields of agriculture and environment.. Examples are sustainable food production, bioenergy and industrial raw materials. Our work is about the sustainable use of land, water and biological natural resources. The focus is on the natural sciences, but we are also active in the social science and the humanities.

SLU AlnarpProgram Location

At the Alnarp campus, the main activities concern landscape architecture, horticulture, plant production, agriculture and silviculture in Southern Sweden. Two of SLU's faculties are represented, and also several connected organisations.  The park with thousands of trees, bushes and flowers, the landscape and horticultural laboratories, the rehabilitation garden and a range of beautiful buildings, together offer a good environment for students, staff and visitors. The park is open all year round and has many visitors.
Today it is a modern campus for about 900 students aiming for examination as horticulturists, landscape architects, agricultural engineers etc. Also, several research groups in world class work here.
