NOTE: Students planning to participate in ANY Terry faculty-led study abroad program during ANY semester of the 2019-2020 academic year should use the "Academic Year, 2019-2020" scholarship application form.

Program Description:

Terry College of Business

Application opens April 1. Deadline to Apply is September 30.

The Terry College of Business Study Abroad Scholarship program was created to increase and diversify student participation in study, research, and internships abroad. 


  1. Applicant must must be enrolled as a full-time, degree-seeking student in the Terry College of Business.
  2. Applicant must demonstrate financial need. Students are strongly encouraged to complete the Federal Application For Student Aid (FAFSA) to demonstrate financial need. For information, see
  3. Applicant must be in good academic standing.
  4. Awardees must be admitted to a Terry College faculty-led study abroad program when the award is disbursed, during the normal financial aid disbursement period of a given semester.


  1. Select "Apply now" at the top of this brochure to begin a scholarship application.
  2. Complete all questionnaires and material submissions on-line. 
  3. Request one reference from a UGA faculty member or employer using the application tool (provide e-mail address).
  • Essay--describe your interest in study abroad and how it relates to your personal and professional aspirations. It is OK to have an informal tone, but not OK to be slack about basic grammar and structure. Use the Div. of Academic Enhancement's Writing Center for free guidance and review!
  • Do you qualify for need-based aid? Check Athena for your Financial Aid Award Package for 2019-2020. The best way to demonstrate financial need for student aid is to file a FAFSA.  


Applicants will be notified in the fall semester regarding awards via Funds are disbursed to an awardee's UGA Student Account after Drop/Add week of the term in which s/he is enrolled in a Terry faculty-led study abroad program. The credit will apply to charges in the student account, then any remaining balance will be remitted to the student as a refund. The awarding timeline may not align with deadlines for program deposits or other upfront costs (e.g., airfare) that a program participant may incur.


Awardees are required to submit a Thank You letter to the scholarship sponsor prior to departure, share their study abroad experiences via social media channels while abroad, and serve as a volunteer ambassador upon return in at least one Terry study abroad promotional event.
