OIE Asia-Georgia Internship Connection Scholarship

The Asia-Georgia Internship Connection scholarship awards up to $5000 per student. Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students are eligible. The primary objective of this grant is to fund internships; however, a small subset of grants can be used to fund students applying to study abroad programs with an internship component (preferably related to their career goals).

Internships/Volunteer opportunities MUST last for a minimum of 4 weeks and MUST be for academic credit. There is no maximum limit on internship/volunteering duration. Internships/volunteering MUST be conducted in southeast Asia. Preference is given to students traveling to Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Laos, Macao, Malaysia, Mongolia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam, but scholarships may be considered for students interning in other countries within the region as well. You MUST be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident to apply. Only one application may be submitted per student.

This scholarship is NOT rolling admissions.  The upcoming deadlines are December 3rd and February 18th.   Each student may only submit one application.

The UGA Office of International Education was recently awarded $200,000 from the Freeman Foundation to provide grants for professional experience in Southeast Asia. The primary objective of this grant is to fund internships (preferably related to their career goals), however a small subset of grants can be used to fund students applying to study abroad programs with an internship component. Currently enrolled UGA undergraduate or graduate students are eligible. Internships/Volunteer opportunities MUST last for a minimum of 4 weeks and MUST earn academic credit. There is no maximum limit on internship/volunteer duration. Internships/volunteer program MUST be conducted in Southeast Asia. You MUST be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

HOW TO PREPARE YOUR APPLICATION

Students must have a program application in the StudyAway Portal to be considered for this scholarship. If your program is not listed as an option, please apply to the Non-UGA General Program.
