Program Description:
This not-for-credit internship program includes 3 weeks of clinical training at various veterinary teaching hospitals in the State of Tamilnadu, India. Rabies vaccination required.

Three weeks will be spent in wildlife sanctuaries and wilderness areas which will involve considerable hiking. There will be some sightseeing involved. There will be lots of riding on jeeps, buses, so students with motion sickness have to take appropriate measures. Accommodations and boarding will be provided by the collaborating institution, TANUVAS while the group is in Tamilnadu. When we travel outside the state, students will have to pay for travel, stay and food. Students are requested to take appropriate vaccinations and recommended medications for preventing malaria.

Program Costs: 

Students are responsible for the in-country costs associated with the program, as well as for the cost of airfare, international insurance, and travel documentation.  Program administration will be making group bookings for most of the logistical arrangements for the in-country portion of the program.  The cost of these arrangements will be charged to participants on their student accounts upon their enrollment into the program registration course.  This program registration course is for "0" academic credit.  No tuition or fees will be charged for participation in this program.  Students will be responsible for paying all outstanding charges on their student account prior to the participation in the experience in India.
