Final Reflection Questions
What were the most significant take-aways from your experience?
|
One of the most valuable things I have taken from studying abroad is simply the confidence to travel. I now feel I can reasonably go explore wherever I would like, and I feel I am better equipped to learn from travel now.
— Emilie Castillo, Fall 2018 |
What are your words of advice to students considering this program?
|
Learn the language BEFORE you go. Prioritize learning about where you are, and if you're in Europe, planning ahead travel-wise will save you a lot of money and will make your trip more enjoyable.
— Emilie Castillo, Fall 2018 |
What are your words of advice to students considering this program?
|
Know the language, know that the students behave differently, and know that it takes more time to get places.
— Isaac Leal, Spring 2018 |
How did the experience impact you and your future educational/career/personal goals?
|
I think my view academically and in general is much more global now. I didn't realize before how U.S.-centric my mindset was; now I consider things more in terms of the whole world than just the American reality. This paradigm shift has really encouraged me to pursue more ambitious degrees and made me realize I want to focus on global solutions then just working in my region.
