What were the most significant take-aways from your experience?

Just getting to understand the way people around the world are. I had the impression that people would be very different and also very critical of the U.S., but that was really never the case. Everyone seemed very normal, and had a high opinion for the U.S.

What are your words of advice to students considering this program?

Prepare as much as you can ahead of time, set goals, and keep a rough schedule of when you want to do what, because time will pass by quickly. Be bold to speak the language even though you feel stupid and like you're not making any progress, because you always are.

How did the experience impact you and your future educational/career/personal goals?

It made me more responsible, always looking to solve a problem before it happens. It drastically improved my language skills and gave me a desire to work harder to improve my language abilities and to do better in school. My internship helped me have a unique perspective into what goes on in my career and some of the things I would be responsible for.
