The academic experience was by far the most memorable experience. The two tutors that I had for biochemistry and genetics were brilliant and so inspiring.

What were the most significant take-aways from your experience?
Program Testimonials
I learned to really invest in the work. If you rework your mindset to frame studying and diving into complex questions as something you choose to do, rather than something you have to do, it becomes significantly more enjoyable. Studying at Oxford was such a privilege. It made me realize how special being an academic is.
— Sarah Jacobsen, Spring 2019
How did the experience impact you and your future educational/career/personal goals?
Program Testimonials
This experience made me excited about learning again. Although it sounds nerdy, I felt that this learning structure focused more on learning than on trying to get an 'A', and I really enjoyed that aspect. By being able to choose what I wanted to do, I realized that I definitely want to pursue a Masters- I feel that I am more than prepared for graduate school after this experience and am excited thinking about pursuing an upper level degree where I get to further focus on topics I enjoy.
— Hannah Bass, Spring 2018
How did the experience impact you and your future educational/career/personal goals?
Program Testimonials
The experience taught me so much about my major. I was able to think more in depth about things, and learned to challenge my previous ideas. The small class sizes and incredible teachers made for an amazing learning experience. These classes helped me discover what I want to focus on in grad school, as well as research I want to pursue.

The study abroad program has made me want to commit to working hard, getting good grades, get into a good medical school, and be as successful as possible. I am more motivated than ever, which is a product of my time in Oxford.
