I would definitely recommend this program to others! It is a great learning opportunity outside of the classroom and does not even feel like class. Make sure to travel with an open mind and to take everything in. Ask questions and allow yourself to step outside of your comfort zone- you won't regret it!

How did the experience impact you and your future educational/career/personal goals?

It was a great experience immersing myself in a culture different than my own. In the field of social work, cultural humility should be practiced at all time. Spending time in Ghana forced me to recognize personal biases and to consider different perspectives.
