What were the most significant take-aways from your experience?

Definitely the people. Spending time with my international student group and German friends were how I really learned about culture, not just in Germany but in so many different countries! Also, the ability to travel in Europe for the first time while being totally immersed as a student and resident was a really great experience/opportunity.

What are your words of advice to students considering this program?

If you are interested in seeing all my tips and tricks for being a study abroad student at Uni Hohenheim, ask Ms. Amanda Stevens for my extensive google drive document. Other than those specific recommendations, I would advise any student considering this program to be open minded. You are in a different country with a different culture and different language and people from all over the world (mostly NOT Americans), so to get the full experience be willing to take it all in and fall in love with it.

How did the experience impact you and your future educational/career/personal goals?

While I have not completely changed my career goal of going into the medical field, I definitely have decided to become more internationally minded with it! I have already started looking for ways to go back abroad, either through a internship/volunteer program or even potentially a masters degree. I loved being surrounded by new people and cultures that forced me to learn every day and keep expanding my insights on individuals and the world.
