Safety was the first priority of the trip. Sampling in the field has the potential to be dangerous but the professors and TA's put our safety first during the entirety of the course.

a Lot of information for a new person to ichthyology but doable and very interesting

Loved every site. Coastal GA was beautiful but nothing beats snorkeling at the Conasauga.

This was a great way to see a wide variety of our southeastern fish species. Most of your time is spent in the field as opposed to in a classroom, yet you still learn more than in many other classes. I highly recommend this course to all Warnell students, even if your major is not fisheries.

The Georgia fishes field course is an amazing way to be exposed to important field skills as well as learn about fish ecology and taxonomy! I would take this class over and over again if I could!

I am very grateful to have experienced Georgia's aquatic biodiversity firsthand. I enjoyed myself and loved gaining an appreciation for fish as a wildlife emphasis student.

The absolute best class to learn about aquatic ecology, while simultaneously gaining invaluable field experience. Plus, the added bonus of traveling and exploring our state with an incredible cast of experts and professionals.

I wasn't sure what to expect prior to taking this course, but it changed my life. The dedication and passion from the instructors truly inspired me, and I gained new content knowledge and ways of thinking in just a few short weeks. The group of students in this class formed such an amazing bond, as well. By far my favorite class at UGA-- I think back on it nearly every day.

I had heard about this course from previous participants and knew it was going to be fun but I had a way better time than expected I would 100% take this course again if i could.

Coming in with little to no knowledge of fish taxonomy/ ecology, I learned an incredible amount from this trip and gained valuable experience in field data collection. I would highly recommend this Maymester to both Warnell students and anyone interested in learning more about Georgia's native fish population. The staff was incredible and made a great effort to connect with the students, and this trip ended up being one of the most memorable experiences I've had as a student at UGA.
