The work was extremely educational and always relevant to the trip. Though it was academically challenging, the content was very impactful to my own understanding of the natural world.

Workload felt like a lot, but I feel like it was necessary and felt very rewarding at the end.

While this program was difficult, the instructors were reasonable and never had us drowning in work.

Some of my favorite stops were the cultural centers. Hearing history/cultural practices/perspective from actual native people rather than what the American education system feeds us was eye-opening and extremely valuable.

IFP provided me with an experience of a lifetime, and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. I fell in love with this program, and I hope that many more IFP generations will be able to experience this program for years to come. I honestly feel a greater satisfaction for life after this trip from being in nature and getting close to all the staff and students. IFP exceeded my expectations tremendously, and I wish I could have stayed out there for the rest of my life. After this summer I have so many connections on campus, and I made some of my closest friends on this trip.

My expectations were beyond exceeded. I had the best two months of my life, with the most amazing people surrounding me. The peer relationship among us was unlike any I have ever had in a class room. Same in relevance to professors and staff. This trip is truly one of a kind and I underestimated what my experience and take away was going to be like.

This program was the best experience of my college career so far. Learning about the ecology, geology, and anthropology of North America and then being able to step outside of the classroom and experience what we were learning in real time was incredible. There is no other learning experience at UGA like this and I highly, highly recommend it. All of the professors are extremely knowledgeable and attentive to individual student needs. They truly want you to succeed and have fun learning!

Advice: Keep a positive mind! This program is physically and mentally challenging, often at once. It can be hard to do one more task or write one more reflection when you've been working hard all day. Staying as upbeat as possible will raise the moral of a group as a whole and let you know when it's time to take care of yourself as well

It may seem like a very intense program, but you can do it!! Everyone is so supportive and helpful so don't hesitate to ask questions.

Even if you have never camped, hiked, or not shower for over 4 days, you CAN do this program, and you will not regret it.

Keep an open mind. Know that it's challenging, but it's beyond worth it! Just like the mount saint Helens hike! You will walk away from this program a better person. With a wider range of thinking and a better grasp on life. You will walk away grateful and will never be ready to sleep in a bed again!

This trip truly changed my life for the better and made me recognize the value of an interdisciplinary education. What we learned was fully pertinent to life, nonetheless my degree. The method of this trip (camping and hiking for 2 months) allowed me to form lifelong friendships with both students and staff, who have helped me along in the process of applying to graduate schools. I wouldn't have traded this summer for anything.

I really pushed myself out of my comfort zone, but it was so worth it. I learned a lot and made so many good friends that will hopefully last a lifetime.

Ifp, will change your life. It is seeing the natural world, with experienced experts at your side who love to be there for you. You won't come back the same as you left, you will grow in appreciation for so many things.

Participating in the Interdisciplinary Field Program has been been one of my most valuable life experiences over the last 21 years. Over the two month course i grew as a person in a way that I can not even put into words. If you are even considering applying, do it.

IFP gave me lifelong friends and a new outlook on the world

IFP changed the way I understand the earth, its geologic history, past and present inhabitants, and ecological systems. I saw so many new places and grew as a person along the way.

This trip was lifechanging-- I learned so much about the natural world while being able to explore national parks and do breathtaking hikes.

IFP is one of the best summers of my life; you go to some of the most amazing places in the country, meet some of the coolest people, and live a unique traveling lifestyle--and that's a semester of school!

Absolutely amazing! I got to take a bucket list level road trip, while getting credit and making great friends!

IFP is unlike anything I've ever done and will definitely change your outlook on the many things we learn about.
