Everything was accurate and helpful. I referred to the handbook very frequently to answer and questions or concerns.

As a vegetarian, I expected my meals to be more difficult, but to my surprise my homestay was so accommodating. Some of my best meals came from my homestay!

All the staff did very well contacting the students and were very quick to interact with any concerns that occurred - like health concerns. All the staff were very approachable and kind.

UGABA was an incredible experience. Thank you for facilitating all of the opportunities that y'all did. I will surely recommend Argentina to my friends who wish to study abroad.

Be open! Leading up to the trip, everyone felt like they had no idea what they were getting themselves into, and we all felt underprepared. You will only feel underprepared because it is impossible to accurately describe to people what this experience will be like - be open with friends, with Spanish, with plans, with time, everything!

Isaac Wade Parham, Summer 2019 Participant
Don't be afraid to mess up when speaking Spanish, locals and peers alike will be more eager to help you improve than to shame you for your mistakes. Also, bring more money than you think you need. It may not be convenient to ask your family for money or to have to use your credit card.

Take the academics seriously and make a list of things in the city you want to visit. Often times you can afford 1 trip into the city per day and you can hit multiple interesting sites in the same trip for maximum efficiency (ie: Plaza de Mayo followed by Palacio Barolo)

"En el cielo, las estrellas. En el campo, las espinas. Y en el medio de mi pecho, la República Argentina." Go on this trip and you will feel like this too!!!

UGA en Buenos Aires was a phenomenal program which balanced the ability to receive multiple credits in a semester and a diverse cultural experience with many opportunities to develop one's Spanish language.

"This study abroad trip allowed me to finish my Spanish minor while living in the New York City of South America, and I couldn't recommend it more"

"If you want to build an intimate relationship with South America, this is the trip for you"

My favorite part of this experience was getting to travel to different regions of Argentina. At a restaurant in Salta, we were invited to join in on a folklorico dance and everyone was singing and clapping and I felt so welcome and overjoyed. This was definitely a trip of a lifetime and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to do a study abroad with UGA.

This summer was an unforgettable one. Studying abroad in a different country may seem daunting, but I promise the challenges are what end up turning into the best memories.
