I appreciate the way that the program directors stressed the high level of expected academic performance. I thought at first that the directors were exaggerating, but I quickly realized that they had provided much needed advice. I also appreciate the information of local attractions in Oxford (such as the libraries, book stores, and different places to eat).

The orientation materials were very beneficial not only in preparation for study abroad through UGA at Oxford but also throughout my stay. I deferred to the Orientation book numerous times, especially for the first couple of weeks, as a guide to studying abroad at Oxford.

Spring 2017 Participant
Orientation was honest about the scale of work that would be required and very upfront of how the program would go. Proved to be truly accurate to the experience.

Safety was number one during the program and thorough instruction made transportation out and about fairly easy.

I think UGA offers great facilities, transportation, and planning for both daily needs and excursions. The UGA house is in a great location and neighborhood between Oxford city centre and Summertown. I felt safe the entire time I was in Oxford. The house itself was well equipped with locks and alarms. With a lot of people in and out of a house like they are in Oxford, I think it is probably difficult to maintain security, but I think the policies in place surrounding guests, alarms, and curtains are very effective. On our program we also had bus passes, which I thought were really useful on rainy days and quick trips to lunch and class when time was lacking. Finally, we had one group excursion to London, and it was well planned for with program money purchasing all train tickets, Parliament tickets, and even some out-of-dining-hall food money. Our London trip was early on in the program, and traveling on the train and the London Tube as a group was stress free and an great introduction to the British transportation system.

I always felt safe in Oxford and at our house. Ryan did a great job of creating a safe environment

By encouraging us to maintain awareness of our situations and utilize the access we were given to reach out at any time, the program staff and faculty made us feel completely safe and prepared.

Felt extremely safe the whole trip.

Although the workload is much more than what we are used to here at UGA, the work is manageable and helps take your academic abilities to another level.

Spring 2017 Participant
The workload through UGA at Oxford is quite challenging as is expected in higher education which makes meeting that challenge head on incredibly rewarding and entirely worth every minute of hard work.

Spring 2017 Participant
It was a lot of work, but worth it. 2 tutorials and a seminar seemed to be a good balance.

Spring 2016 Participant
We took one field trip to London which was great. I think the Parliament tour was a great idea.

Layla Christina Garrett, Spring 2016 Participant
Location of UGA house on Banbury road was great. It was only a 15 min walk to the Keble dining hall. The bus passes that were provided for us were AMAZING. I really appreciate the bus passes!!! It was only a 5 min bus ride to town.

Ange B Han, Spring 2016 Participant
London field trips are the best!

Never in my wildest dreams did I believe I would have the privilege of studying British Politics at Parliament, living through history at the Winston Churchill War Rooms or dining near the location of Queen Elizabeth II's royal wedding- truly a one-of-a-kind education!

Really enjoyed the London group trip!

Security measures at the UGA at Oxford Centre gave me the complete assurance that students' safety is taken seriously and treated with the utmost care. The Centre staff, including the ever cheerful Mr. Brian and Ms. Christine, were always professional and went the extra mile to make our stay comfortable.

Layla Christina Garrett, Spring 2016 Participant
Taking British politics was informative. But going out on our own and interacting with other British people and students was the most beneficial.

Interacting with the Oxford University culture was an invaluable aspect of my education through UGA at Oxford. Attending out-of-class lectures, seminars, and interacting with fellow Oxford students not only helped me embrace a global framework for life but also enhanced my performance in tutorials by enabling me to gain alternative perspectives and learn from others' experiences.

I didn't interact very much with Barbara, but Ryan Williamson was incredible. He was easy to get along with, all the students respected him, and he went above and beyond his role.

Ange B Han, Spring 2016 Participant
Anyone was available when needed.

I do want to express how thankful and pleased I was with program staff. From Dr. McClung to Ms. Barbara to Mr. Ryan Williamson and Dr. Owsiak, all were very helpful and really seemed to care about ensuring that the students in my program were well cared for and provided the maximum opportunity to benefit from the program. I would like to make special note of Ryan Williamson's efforts, as graduate assistant, to go above and beyond his designated duties. He of course always made sure the house was locked up and the alarm activated and dealt very professionally with any personal disputes within the house. However, he often went beyond that in checking in on students and their studies, offering advice, and making himself available anytime a student needed to contact him (which can be difficult with odd hours and limited phone capabilities that many students experience). I would also like to make note of Dr. Owsiak's efforts. Dr. Owsiak invited all of our program in small groups to dinner at his flat over the course of the program. In this endeavor, and many smaller ones, Dr. Owsiak really seemed to get to know all the students in our program. As faculty, his advice and willingness to discuss class and career topics enhanced the academic community of the program.

The UGA at Oxford program staff have done a fantastic job building and administering the UGA at Oxford program. They are always prepared and confident in handling both day-to-day program activities as well as special events and excursions.

The UGA at Oxford program staff are always professional, courteous and ready to aid students in any way they can.

Very attentive staff!

It was very expensive. But worth the money! I am truly grateful for financial aid and genuine financial concern that the staff helped me with.

Considering the program costs of $7,900 include housing, most meals, snacks at the Keble Cafe, a bus pass, laundry access, library access, and education at Oxford University (which I would imagine is at least partly included in UGA tuition and fees), the UGA at Oxford program is an expensive endeavor. Nonetheless, the UGA at Oxford program is the most valuable use of my college tuition fund and of the donations and scholarships others have so generously afforded me to attend the program.

Spring 2017 Participant
Although the initial costs seem heavy, this trip was worth every dollar (and pound) spent.

Layla Christina Garrett, Spring 2016 Participant
Hardest thing I have ever done in my life so far. But I am beyond glad and proud to have been a part of this program! Oxford professors are very unique.

Ange B Han, Spring 2016 Participant
The memories and being able to freely live in the town was the best part.

Spring 2017 Participant
I knew that the UGA at Oxford program would be the most intellectually demanding effort so far in my undergraduate studies, but I never imagined it would be equally if not more intellectually rewarding. The UGA at Oxford program far exceeded my expectations and I would wholeheartedly recommend others to participate.

A very high-value program, with lots of scholarship opportunities and a great location. Really enjoyed my tutorials/tutors, and the community atmosphere living in the UGA at Oxford Centre.

Life-changing program that I could not recommend more.

I first found out about the Oxford Program as a freshman in 2013. It was truly a dream come true to experience this my last term of undergraduate school. My time at Oxford has greatly influenced my direction in life in the best ways possible.

I loved this program and I would definitely recommend it to anyone that is interested.

Learning through UGA at Oxford is all about learning how you can make a difference in your world one step at a time. So don't just attend the program- engage! And don't just engage in tutorials- take advantage of additional places to learn and people to learn from. And do more than learn outside of tutorials- take what you find and apply it to what your professors have discussed. Then figure out how to incorporate everything you have learned into the world around you. Then do it again and again until it becomes a habit for life. This why the UGA at Oxford program is so valuable- there is no limit to what you can learn or to how you can discover the keys to making your world a better place.

I'd advise future participants to expand outside the house and other students in the program and to get involved in the college they're in with either sports, societies, or friendships. Beyond the college, there is also a whole city of opportunities!

Spring 2017 Participant
Make every effort to engage with the culture. This is where you will learn the most about the world and yourself.

Camden Mclean Werner, Spring 2017 Participant
Find a way to immerse yourself in your college and in the university! I picked up football (soccer) again even though I hadn't played in a couple of years and it was a blast. I ended up meeting so many friends from the UK that I know I will be in contact with for a long time. I feel as if I got so much more out of the experience from just that one decision to show up at that first practice.

Having studied abroad once before, I was still unsure exactly what to expect by studying abroad at Oxford. However, this truly was the experience of a lifetime that I will benefit from for the rest of my life.

Traveling to a different country has opened my mind up to new opinions and experiences I never would have considered. And it has shown me that there are Bulldog fans all over the world. Go Dawgs!

UGA at Oxford taught me to imagine the impossible and make it happen!

This program is less so about learning, and more so about learning to learn in a critical and wholistic manner. Life-changing program that I could not recommend more.

Obiananma Chikaodi Okeani, Spring 2017 Participant
My term at Oxford was so valuable; it was an opportunity to delve into in-depth studies with excellent students in the university's unique tutorial-style format, and truly live as a local student attending one of the best universities in the world.

Just go!

The UGA at Oxford Program has been my favorite part of undergraduate school. As a student, I was simultaneously challenged and encouraged. But as a person, I learned more about myself than all of college. I highly recommend studying abroad at the world's top university. Student will gain academically as well as personally from this program.

UGA at Oxford is a really unique program in that you get the experience of immersing yourself in a different culture while pushing yourself academically even more than you might at Georgia. It was the best decision I've made so far in my college career.
