I loved the village home stay.

the locations were amazing. Each one different from the last and focused on differnet points regarding the health of the environment and culture due to tourism

It far exceed my expectations.

Go into this part of the trip with an open mind, but have one, concrete goal or thing to try before the end of the week. Other than that one specific thing though, seek happiness. That is a very broad term and should not be overlooked. Go into this trip and do what makes YOU happy, and please, I repeat, please, try things you never would have dreamed of trying because these little things present themselves as opportunities every hour of every day, but if YOU are not willing to take advantage of these opportunities you will undoubtably and drastically reduce the value of this trip. Trust me, do this and you will have a different view of life when you return home.

Keep an open mind and be ready to meet people completely different from yourself and enjoy new adventures!

Advice to future participants: have a positive attitude and make the most out of the week you have with these amazing people!

Go into this with an open mind! The village stay will be an incredible experience if you let it be. Don't focus on what accommodations you don't have or wish you did have just enjoy and experience where you are.

This is the trip of a lifetime. Every penny was worth it! I've met a great group of people, learned so much about different cultures, and now I just want to travel everywhere!

I really learned a lot more about tourism in the community setting than I ever thought I would and saw things from lots of different perspectives. It was definitely the most diverse experience I've had.

An eye-opening and unforgettable experience

It was eye opening to see that people who live so differently from us can be as, if not more, happy than we are.

The fear of not knowing is greater than the height of any mountain and wider than width of any valley, but if you climb these mountains and explore the valleys, that fear will become a happiness that is also greater than the height of any mountain and wider than the width of any valley.

Fiji gifted us with perspective in the villages and indulged us with its snorkeling. This class was solely fieldwork allowing for firsthand experiences. Students made their own judgements and formed their own opinions rather than being told what to belief from a video or a traditional lecture.

This trip was the best time of my life!

Learning about the Fijian way of life while surrounded by an incredible ecosystem was one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had.

This study abroad program was an amazing decision. Getting to interact with the local Fijians was a life changing experience. Their joy and laughter is contagious.

An experience like no other!

This program was by far one of the most incredible experiences I have ever been a part of. The reefs and ecoresort were essentially paradise, the village home stay let us actually become immersed in these people's culture, and the river trip to the waterfall was amazing. But as a whole, the Fiji trip is so much more than the places you go. Interacting with our host families and professors was incredibly educational and only made these places stand out even more!
