I felt like I got to interact with the local culture a great amount. Between the traditional dinners and getting to know locals in schools I really felt like I left with a good idea of what Scottish culture was like

Samantha Wailea Chosed, Maymester 2019 Participant
I was very surprised and grateful to the amount of time the students had to be able to connect with the local culture and people of Scotland.

All professors were very understanding and accommodating when it came to helping us balance academic requirements and living in another country and I really appreciated that

All who wander are not lost! Don't be afraid aimlessly wander, you might discover something amazing off the beaten path!

Scotland is an amazing, beautiful, and welcoming place, but what truly made this trip for me was the people. The Scottish people, for showing us kindness and a smile at every turn, and also everyone who came on this trip with me. I will never forget the memories made with them, one of the absolute highlights of my college experience at UGA!

Margaret Mary O'Brien, Maymester 2017 Participant
One of the most impressionable things I heard on this trip was the phrase "People Make Glasgow." A place can be beautiful on its own (and Scotland sure is filled with an abundance of beauty), but it's made more beautiful by the people in it. I was first drawn to Scotland for the wild landscapes and sprawling countryside, but I fell in love with Scotland because of its kind and generous people.

Scotland is filled with beauty at every turn. I can't tell you how many times my eyes were filled with wonder or my smile was as big as the ocean. There is something incredibly new to learn in every moment.

This program allowed me to experience things I would not have been able to otherwise and made me a more well-rounded person; I came away from this trip with new friends, stories, knowledge, and viewpoints that I will cherish forever.

The program exceeded my expectations in a positive way. I am so grateful to have had this opportunity to be able to be learn and grow in the amazing country of Scotland. It has truly changed my perspective in every aspect. I will always remember this experience and carry it with me. I am so thankful for the University of Georgia for giving me this opportunity of a lifetime.
