Orientation was a good place to meet people and get a feel for things. We were given tours of the campus and lunch was provided so I can't complain.

I never needed any medical attention.

It was challenging because British school is so different than how we study in the US, but with some discipline and communication with your professors, you'll be just fine.
Spring 2016 Participant
There were some solid optional excursions that we took advantage of (Cambridge, an Everton match, etc.). Again, organization wasn't great, but locations were pretty good.

We cooked ourselves, so it depends how you cook. There were multipole grocery stores within a 10 minute walk, so you can always run out to grab something.

This was left entirely up to us and was not facilitated at all by the school, but the city was easily accessible so I took advantage of it all the time!

Exceeded my expectations

UGA did a great job preparing us for the exchange which helped the adjustment upon arrival. It may be daunting to go by yourself on an exchange to a foreign country with non one you know, but it truly was the best way to immerse myself with the people and the culture.

My advice for future participants would be to attend as many events your host university is putting on because those are the best way to meet people, local or foreign.

Liverpool is a city filled with excitement, a rich football culture, and a bright social scene. The University of Liverpool is made up of students from all over the UK and international students from all over the world.

Studying at the University of Liverpool changed how I see the world. If I could do it again I would, in a heartbeat. The town has a heart of its own and the people are so lovely. I can't wait to go back someday. If you have the opportunity to go here, take it!
