Most of the useful and accurate orientation materials and information came to me through the University of Hohenheim, not from UGA. The exchange program hadn't been done by a student recently, so not much current detailed information was available in the beginning for me when applying/preparing.

I felt very safe on campus and in Stuttgart. Excursions I took abroad with the intensive language course were well organized and executed. On my personal trips, I felt very safe as I traveled with other people and was smart about where and when I went places.

The classes at Hohenheim were very high quality! The work load, even for master courses, was not as much for me compared to my semesters at UGA (which is also due in part to the differences between the USA and Germany educational systems). I definitely studied, but I also had time to travel and hang out with people and really take advantage of my experience/time in Germany.

All the on-campus dorms were safe, and it really depended on who your flatmates were in terms of cleanliness.

Most/all meals are done on an individual level. I ate very well - Germany's food is pretty cheap and very high quality!

There are many opportunities to be in situations where you can learn about in interact with local culture - just make the effort and its 5 stars!

The visit from Amanda Stevens was so fun! And I really appreciated all the program staff for replying quick to my emails about transfer credits and classes, etc. It was very helpful and also comforting to know I had a support base back in Athens, GA concerned about me.

Being awarded the BW Stipendium, along with a CAES scholarship made this program amazingly affordable and valuable for me.
