Program Description:
Producing Entertainment in Quito Ecuador - Study Abroad Program
This program is a partnership between The Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication and Universidad de San Francisco Quito (USFQ).  Students from both colleges will work together to create films/visual narratives for USFQ’s Radio COCOA, and internationally recognized content provider from USFQ.  Students will spend the month of June producing, writing, filming, and editing narrative works in the city and surrounding mountain areas of Quito, Ecuador. Students will receive 3 hours of elective credit after completing this program.

Academic Program
Arrive in Quito, Ecuador on June 8, 2019.
Classes begin on June 9, 2019.

Who can apply?
This program is only open to currently enrolled Grady College majors.

Lodging
Students will stay two to a room in a nearby hotel in Quito. Just a short distance from USFQ Campus. Specific details will be provided soon.

Program Costs
The program fee for Summer 2018 was $2,150 (which includes the $300 security deposit paid upon acceptance to the program). The program fee for Summer 2019 has not been finalized and is subject to change until all students are committed to the program in the Spring. In addition to paying a program fee, students are required to pay for 3 hours of in-state tuition and UGA mandatory fees. See UGA's website for the most up-to-date tuition rates and fees for Summer 2019.

What does the program fee include?
- Lodging in a double-occupancy hotel in Cumbaya, Ecuador
- One or two group meals from USFQ
- A classroom with WiFi access and use of production equipment
- One or two group excursions with USFQ


What other costs will I encounter? 
Costs not included in the program fee include:
- 3 hours of in-state tuition and UGA Mandatory Fees (See UGA's website for updated tuition rates and fees for Summer 2019)
- Roundtrip airfare to Quito, Ecuador (typically around $850 - $1,100) (program may require students to purchase flights as the group - all on same flight)
- Meals (it's been suggested to budget around $25-$35 a day for meals depending on personal eating habits)
- Laundry
- Leisure weekend adventures if you so choose
- International telephone calls if applicable
