What were the most significant take-aways from your experience?

Because of our enormous size, we as Americans are limited to the cultures we can easily access compared to other countries in the world. It's very easy to get "stuck in your ways" and close minded. However, experiencing the different cultures and speaking with Scotland natives about their travels to other countries and their views of America was very eye opening. I also noticed that we should be more laid back and not so up tight. Other countries have more focus on relationships and spending time with one another rather than working.

What are your words of advice to students considering this program?

Always take a chance to go out of your comfort zone. This trip was out of mine, and it made me realize there is no growth in the comfort zone, and there is no comfort in the growth zone. This program will open your eyes to the concept of becoming who YOU want to be.
