What were the most significant take-aways from your experience?
Program Testimonials
Academically, I had many significant take aways in a span of 3 and a half weeks. I broadened my horizons and learned a lot about sustainable development. As we traveled across the UK, we visited many different historical cites were we learned how they are aiming to be sustainable, thus, acquire business longevity. Personally, my most significant take away was the friendships that I cultivated. I am now best friends with many of the people on this trip. We still keep in contact today, and will always share a bound of studying abroad together.

What were the most significant take-aways from your experience?
Program Testimonials
This program opened my eyes to many new things. I learned so much about the way the environment is being taken care of in other parts of the world and the active steps countries like the United Kingdom are taking to move towards a more sustainable future. I also learned that there are many practical ways to incorporate sustainability practices in everyday life and in many different job industries. It was incredible to experience and immerse myself into a different culture for a long period of time and just partake in the lifestyle of someone who live half way across the globe.

Just got for it! Entering UGA I knew that I wanted to study abroad. Everyone I had talked to had the best experiences with study abroad programs at Georgia. I looked into a summer study abroad, and found Summer in England and Scotland. This program was exactly what I was looking for- and it fit in ym schedule perfectly! I promptly applied, got in, and accepted the offer. So if you are considering this program, I would recommended that you go for it. What are your words of advice to students considering this program?
Program Testimonials
Go into this program with an open mind and be actively engaged. My time on this program was one of the best months of my life. I got to see incredible sites, meet amazing people, broaden my knowledge, and make friendships with some of the coolest people I know. The more outgoing you are and involved you are in all the aspects of the trip, the better the experience will be. For much of the trip you will be in places with internet. Instead of being on your phone or the internet, go see something you haven't see before or hangout with your new friends because it will be over before you know it and you'll be longing to experience some of those memories again.
— Ryan O'Keefe, Summer 2019

How did the experience impact you and your future educational/career/personal goals?
Program Testimonials
As a biochemistry major, I do not think about sustainable development, geology, or anthropology much. This study abroad experience had a great impact on me, how I see the world, and how I want to live my life. Becoming enlightened on the importance of sustainability and preservation, did I really understand that this world needs to be taken care of. And that starts with ME. After coming back from the UK I personally strive to always recycle, and bring awareness from the lessons I learned and places I've seen.
