Honestly, I felt as though we were over-prepared for our journey. Dr. Thomason did a fantastic job of helping us be organized and prepared for the worst while anticipating the best.

I got sick and the doctor was great and I felt very well taken care of

I felt more safe than I ever thought I would in russia. The key is just being aware and smart and you'll be fine.

I felt safer in Russia than I sometimes do in Athens.

The teachers at Herzen State Pedagogical University and MSU were amazing, and I believe their immersion-based approach to teaching really helped to enhance my vocabulary/ability to communicate.

We were able to do so much in such a short period of time! I particularly loved both of our trips to Moscow and Suzdal, they were incredible experiences and both exceedingly well done.

Dr. Thomason divided up our program fees to give us a weekly food allowance. This was an amazing idea and kept us all well fed.

Dr. Thomason emailed us a list of events in the city when we had free time. I got to go to a Hockey parade and an Ice Cream Festival in Saint Petersburg.

Interacting with people from Russia was probably one of the most important experiences of the trip to me. I have made connections that I hope to keep into America, and I was able to have so many interesting conversations while I was there.

I couldn't have asked for a better program director than Dr. Thomason. She was extremely organized, appropriately strict and reminded us frequently of important deadlines.

Gareth Ingleton, Summer 2017 Participant
Dr. Thomason is amazing. She always knew what was going on and always had everything perfectly organized. I can't think of a time that plans fell through unexpectedly.

I cannot imagine planning my own trip to Russia with so many events and so little trouble for myself at such a low cost.

Tyler W Breeden, Summer 2017 Participant
I really loved the entire experience.

I really appreciated all the preparation Dr. Thomason made for us. It was easy to enjoy ourselves and we only needed to worry about the school part of the trip. I enjoyed seeing everything we did on the trip and felt like I had a great introduction to Russian history. I also appreciated that Dr. Thomason did give us a lot of freedom, but she was always there if we needed help.

For future participants, this is a trip that you'll never forget. Be open to talking to people, they're a lot friendlier than you think.

This program was extremely eye opening. I loved having the chance to meet people from the other side of the world and learn about their culture and language. Getting to be both in the classroom and in the cities is a fantastic learning experience that has motivated and inspired me to continue to travel and study abroad!

This program let's you experience Russia in the most convenient way possible. You're provided so many opportunities to practice the Russian language you're there to learn. You get to go on excursions that have been tailored to suit your interests. You get to experience another culture in the safest, most convenient way imaginable. I made memories to last a lifetime, bonded with the students who experienced Russia with me, and look forward to returning to Russia one day soon!

The conversations you'll have, things you'll see, and people you'll meet--you can't have that opportunity anywhere else.

Christina Denise Morgan, Summer 2018 Participant
If you have ever considered visiting Russia, go on this program. It is very organized, and you will see every important cultural and historical aspect of the cities in which you visit. This is the best way to see the country even if you have no prior knowledge of the language or culture.

I loved my time in Russia. The history and culture was so rich and interesting. I loved the language classes and by the end of the trip, it was a teary goodbye to my Russian teachers.

Kathryn Grace Rogers, Summer 2018 Participant
This study abroad in Russia blew my expectations out of the water! Not only was it run by a director who cares so much about her students, but the teachers themselves left a huge impact on me and my language skills, and I've never been more confident in my Russian speaking ability.
